New data from the Bank of Spain shows that property purchases from non Spanish residents in 2013 has exceeded €6bn (£5bn) for the first time since the boom year of 2004.

A report by Spain's society of property registrars indicates that the Brits are still buying more property than buyers from any other country; they account for 15% of all sales to foreign investors. followed by the French (10%), Russians (9%) and Belgians (7%).

According to Kristoffer Mincberg the CEO of Marbella Estates,  a surge in sales of Marbella property began at the end of last summer, especially in Puerto Banus, Guadalmina, Benahavis and on The New Golden Mile.
