About Casares
The white-washed clifftop town of Casares has been a favourite tourist destination - and great picture opportunity - for decades. It is spectacular, pastoral, and architecturally bold. However, a lesser-known section of the huge municipality has recently drawn the interest of visitors and purchasers.
Several spectacular luxury estates are being created along the shore, and Finca Cortesin hosted the World Match Play Golf Championship in 2009, 2011, and 2012. It also has one of the Costa del Sol's seven Michelin-starred restaurants. Approaching from the coast road takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes on the coast. Stop the automobile and go for a walk around the hills. That sound you're hearing is quiet, punctuated by birdsong and the occasional cricket.
When you arrive at Casares, the town is really under you. All you need to know is a quick scan of the horizon from one of the telescopic vantage spots. Discovering this gorgeous village will be an unforgettable experience. The steep and unevenly-paved alleys rush you to the village's centre, passing many home doors, many of which are kept open for cooling purposes, and providing an unusual peek into life here.
The nightlife in Casares isn't exactly famous. However, there are some bars that stay open late and draw a large number of residents on weekends. Those looking for something a little more exciting choose to travel to the shore. Tapas fans will undoubtedly like the variety of alternatives offered in Casares.
